Onward travel proof
Plan your departure from Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia with a temporary flight reservation. Receive passenger and flight details with a booking reference after successful creation — not a paid ticket or a boarding pass.

Indonesia entry checks
Separate the entry requirement from the product you are buying. A temporary reservation is not automatically a substitute for every return-ticket requirement.
After successful creation, your reservation PDF contains passenger details, itinerary and a booking reference. Delivery depends on available flights and provider confirmation; payment alone does not mean the reservation is ready.
Online booking currently requires the reserved flight to depart at least 10 days from today. This is the date of the flight you reserve, not necessarily your arrival in Bali. Search availability before paying.
The hold can expire or be released before the flight date. Check the expiry supplied with your reservation and confirm it is still active when needed. It is not a paid flight ticket and cannot be used to board the reserved flight.
Official source: Indonesian Immigration — VOA/e-VOA requirements. Check your visa category and airline before relying on a reservation. Reviewed 5 September 2026.
Your airline and immigration authority decide which documents they accept. If they require a paid or issued ticket, a temporary reservation is not a substitute.

Open guide →How to use the document
Keep the document aligned with your real travel explanation and verify official requirements before you submit it.
Use dates and airports that fit the trip you intend to explain at check-in, border control, or in a visa file.
Names, dates, and route details should match your passport and the rest of your travel documents.
An onward ticket is supporting proof of an intended itinerary, not a visa guarantee or a final boarding document.
Frequently asked questions
Indonesian Immigration lists a return or onward ticket for VOA/e-VOA travelers. Other visa categories can have different conditions. Check the official instructions for your passport and visa, and ask your airline whether a temporary reservation meets its requirements.
A one-way inbound ticket does not by itself establish your plan to leave Indonesia. The airline may ask for onward proof before boarding. Safeonward cannot guarantee boarding or entry, and a paid ticket may be required for your situation.
Use an exit date within your currently permitted stay. This is separate from the reservation expiry: a flight scheduled several weeks ahead does not mean its temporary hold remains active until then.
Do not assume an extension will be approved. Confirm your visa conditions with Indonesian Immigration and your airline before relying on an exit date beyond the stay you currently hold.
No. Bali and Jakarta are both in Indonesia, so a domestic flight does not show departure from the country. Choose an international route that reflects your intended journey, and check entry or transit requirements for the next destination.
