An Emirates proof of travel certificate confirms a flight you already took. Emirates provides an official request form for insurance purposes. The airline says it can issue proof for an Emirates-operated flight taken within the last two years. This is evidence of past travel, not a booking for a future trip.
Emirates says it cannot process a request submitted by a third party on the passenger’s behalf. It may take up to 30 days to send the certificate to the personal email address supplied in the form. If you need a document urgently, check whether your insurer or other requesting organisation will accept an e-ticket receipt or boarding pass while you wait.
Who can use the form?
The passenger who took the flight should submit the request. The form asks the passenger to confirm that they were on the specified flight. If your ticket included a codeshare, check which airline operated the segment: Emirates directs passengers on codeshare flights to the operating carrier.
Before starting, find your booking reference, travel date, departure and arrival airports, flight number and ticket number. The Emirates form requests these booking details along with your name and personal contact information.
How to request the certificate
- Open the official Emirates proof-of-travel form.
- Confirm that you were a passenger on the specified flight.
- Enter your name, personal email address and the flight details as shown on your original booking.
- Review the date, airports, flight number and ticket number before submitting.
- Keep any confirmation and allow for Emirates’ stated processing time of up to 30 days.
If the form cannot match the journey, check the date and ticket number and confirm that Emirates operated the flight. For a codeshare operated by another airline, contact that carrier. Do not submit someone else’s request as a third party; the passenger needs to use Emirates’ process.
What does the certificate prove?
It records a completed Emirates-operated journey. It does not by itself show what you paid for the ticket, and it does not reserve a future flight. Ask the organisation requesting proof which details it needs and whether another document is acceptable while you wait.
| Document | What it shows | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Emirates proof of travel certificate | An eligible Emirates-operated flight was taken | Insurance evidence of past travel |
| E-ticket receipt | A ticket was issued with itinerary details | Purchase or booking records |
| Boarding pass | Check-in and boarding details | Supporting evidence of a journey |
| Booking confirmation | An existing or planned reservation | Managing a trip |
| Onward or return ticket | A planned exit from a destination | Travel-document checks before a future trip |
A boarding pass alone may not satisfy a request for confirmation that travel was completed. An insurer may ask for additional claim documents. The organisation receiving your evidence decides what it accepts.
Is it proof of onward travel for Dubai?
No. This certificate concerns a completed flight. An airline checking entry documents for a future journey to Dubai may instead request evidence of a future departure from the UAE. Review the rules for your passport and visa category in our UAE onward-travel guide.
If a visa application asks for a proposed flight itinerary, use a document prepared for that application. Our visa flight-itinerary guide explains the details to check. A certificate for past travel cannot replace either document.
If you cannot find the booking reference
Search your original booking email, e-ticket receipt, check-in message or Emirates account. Match the travel date and route before entering details on the form. If you still cannot identify the journey, use Emirates’ official help channels. Do not send passport or payment details to an unrelated certificate service.
Frequently asked questions
Can I request the certificate before flying?
No. The form is for an Emirates-operated flight you already took. Use a current booking confirmation or e-ticket receipt for an upcoming flight.
Can an insurer or agent request it for me?
Emirates says it cannot process requests submitted by a third party on your behalf. The passenger should submit the form using a personal email address.
How long does it take?
Emirates says it may take up to 30 days to send the certificate. Ask the organisation requesting proof whether it accepts another document in the meantime.
What if a partner airline operated the flight?
For a codeshare flight, Emirates directs you to the operating carrier. Check your ticket or flight details to identify that airline.
Does the certificate prove payment or an onward booking?
No. It concerns a completed journey. Use a purchase record for payment and an appropriate current ticket or reservation for a future trip.
Create a temporary flight reservation for visa files, airline checks, or proof of onward travel.
